4 Must Do's Before Putting Your Home on the Market
There is a lot of prep work that needs to be done before listing you home. Don't list it without doing these four steps.
Deep clean everything! Closets, drawers, cupboards, behind appliances, etc. You don't want buyers to open a cupboard and see crumbs or everything in disarray.
Google your address. Check city or county tax records for accuracy as far as the square footage, number of bedrooms and bath's. How does your home appear on Google earth or street view? What are online websites estimating as the value, etc.? Now is the time to clarify and correct any information that doesn't appear to be correct.
Account for improvements you have made or issues you have encountered and what you have done to correct them. Then tell the buyer up front so if they come across this information, they will already know about it and that is has been addressed.
Vet the real estate agents you are considering. Make sure they have experience in your market, check to see how they are promoting their current listings, and check references and talk to other sellers they have serviced.
